Mustafa AK began his career at the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in 2004. Over 17 years, he specialized in tax, auditing, and management, serving as a Tax Inspector, Revenue Controller, Deputy Group Head, and Group President at the Revenue Administration.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Istanbul University in 2003. In 2011-2012, he completed a Master’s in Financial Economics at Boston University in the United States and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Financial Law at Marmara University.
As a Revenue Controller and Tax Inspector, he conducted tax audits for large and mid-sized companies across various sectors, particularly in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, gaining extensive experience in tax-related matters.
After serving as Deputy Group Head at the Tax Inspection Board’s Organized Tax Fraud Investigation Division, he was appointed Group President at the Revenue Administration in 2014. During this period, he specialized in tax law interpretations, tax audit procedures, settlements, tax penalties, tax litigation, documentation regulations, and valuation matters. He played an active role in the development of financial laws, restructuring laws, tax communiqués, circulars, and private rulings.
Mustafa AK also represented Turkey in OECD meetings on tax-related matters and participated as a speaker in numerous seminars and panels organized by various institutions, organizations, chambers, and unions. His articles and writings have been published in several journals.
He is a Sworn-in Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Independent Auditor. Mustafa AK is fluent in English and has intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
